As we wait for the official release of the new SiriusXM Lynx more information and images are spotted each day. Below is a gallery of new images. Finally we get to see the Lynx in the flesh!

SiriusXM’s Android Powered Satellite Radio internals finally hit the FCC this week. As previously noted the new Lynx features built in Bluetooth, Micro SD, WIFI(B,G,N) and Immersion Touchscreen Technology. The internals also feature an STIMicro Processor and Samsung SDRAM (No word on the processors speed).
The Lynx was first ousted in October but it is still not currently for sale. There is still no release date for the Lynx but you can join the waiting list at Tss-Radio.com.
Also leaked is the SiriusXM’s Lynx Quick Start Guide seen below (Click Image to View PDF). After looking over the Quick Guide it appears that new Satellite Radio users can now activate service right from the Lynx. This is a great feature if true.
Another feature on the Lynx is the ability to manage memory card content. According to the Quick Start Guide:
If you have installed an optional microSDHC memory card in Lynx, connecting Lynx to a computer using the USB Cable will allow you to manage content and playlists on the memory card.
When Lynx is connected to the computer, the memory card will be recognized as a removable hard drive. You can then copy and manage your personal songs and .M3U playlists on your memory card.
Compatible Audio File Codecs: AAC LC, AAC LTP, HE-AAC v1, HE-AAC v2 (.3gp, .mp4, .m4a, .aac), MP3 CBR and MP3 VBR (.mp3)
Although we already know everything about this new portable radio it’s a waiting game as usual, SiriusXM has yet to make an official announcement although all FCC regulatory filings are in place. Expect the new Lynx very soon.

Yesterday SiriusXM updated their iOS app adding a few additional features. The new update includes
• Start Now allows you to start shows from their beginning even if you’ve just tuned to that channel.
• TuneStart automatically starts the currently playing song from its beginning when you tune to a music channel so that you can enjoy the complete song.
• Pause lets you pause live radio and pick up right where you left off.
• Fast Forward and Rewind lets you navigate through previously aired programming.
• Show Finder lets you find and set alerts for your favorite SiriusXM shows.

This new update includes many of the features previously discussed by SiriusXM when talking about Satellite Radio 2.0. Many of these new features added to the iOS app will be available on the new SiriusXM Lynx once released.
Also interesting is the screen shot below from SiriusXM’s iOS app page. This is the first mention I have seen from Sirius XM regarding the new Lynx radio.

More details on SiriusXM’s next generation radio, the XM Lynx, have leaked online this time you can thank Zak Billmeier from Crutchfield.com
Included are numerous images and a nice writeup of features, most we already learned about thanks to an early leak by Best Buy.
According to Zak:
The Lynx may be the most exciting satellite radio ever. It’s a cool little touchscreen marvel that at times seems part-smartphone, part-DVR, part music player…but it’s really something totally new. I got a chance to see it in action at a training session recently, and came away thinking, “Wow, the Lynx takes it upon itself to make sure you’ll never, ever get bored.”
Most importantly, the Lynx lets you take your satellite radio with you. No matter where you go, it’ll keep your favorite shows right at hand — it automatically records the last five hours of your five favorite channels. When you grab it and head out the door, you’ve got enough content loaded to keep you entertained for quite a while.
You can even store MP3s on a microSD™ memory card so you’ll have your existing library on hand. You can listen to satellite radio over a Wi-Fi network, and with the help of optional accessory kits, you can listen in your car and over your home stereo system. And since you can get a satellite radio signal from coast to coast, you won’t lose your music when you’re on the road.
XTRA CHANNELS
The SIRIUSXM Lynx gives you access to all the channels you already love — plus, with either a SiriusXM Select, Premier or All Access package, you’ll get more than 20 new XTRA CHANNELS, including:
Stream satellite radio with built-in Bluetooth®
Built-in Bluetooth lets you stream programming from the Lynx to a compatible device, like a car stereo, headphones, or the home dock (not included).
